“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.”
The season of annual budget planning is once again upon us. But as Heraclitus observed, whilst the process repeats, it is always different. The marketplace is different, the economy is different, the company pressures are different, and yes, we as marketers have developed.
This year of course things have changed dramatically, with political uncertainty and worldwide economic pressures affecting us all in our personal and professional lives. So, it is probably a good time to stop and reflect.
Is there anything analytics can do to make the process easier? We believe in times of uncertainty it’s important to go back to basics and use analytics to define what we DO know, so that we can better manage and plan for those things we don’t. That’s the subject of this free downloadable short ebook ‘Guide to setting your Marketing Budget’.
In it we cover the 101 of setting your marketing budget from how not to do it, to setting objectives and how you back it up with some science to prove – to yourselves as much as anyone – what you should be spending where.
And if you want to talk to us about YOUR budgeting challenges and how marketing mix modelling could help, please feel free to drop us a line. I promise no more Greek Philosophy.
